These are the changes made by the Directors of the dissolved Mother Church after the last official 88th edition of
the "Church Manual of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts", September 14, 1910. The revised 89th edition of the Church Manual came out on December 17, 1910, exactly two weeks after Mary Baker Eddy passed-on, on December 3, 1910. The changes shown below cover from 1910-1975. -- "Christian Science Our Glorious Heritage Where Has It Gone", by C. Anderson, C.S.

1. 1910 [p.21] Removed "Rev. Mary Baker Eddy, Pastor Emeritus" from list of Church Officers. (This removal was restored in 1924.)

2. 1910 [p.20] Added the unauthorized phrase "and Branch Churches" to the end of the title.

3. 1910 [p.27] Added the unauthorized phrase "and Branch Churches" to the end of the title.

4. 1910 [p.27] Added the footnote, "If a collection is taken..."

5. 1910 [title page] Added the descriptive title under the author's name.

23. 1923 [title page] Substituted "For the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker G. Eddy" for "The Christian Science Publishing Society."

24. 1924 [p.21] Restored "Rev. Mary Baker Eddy, Pastor Emeritus" to list of church Officers.

25. 1925 [p.139] Added eleven page Topical Index. This Topical Index did not list every By-Law nor every reference
to the selected word. The names of some By-Laws were changed as in "Local self-government, pg.70." It is simply "Local Government" in the body of the text of the Church Manual.

28. 1931 [p.18] Added the footnote: "The Charter itself bears the date August 23, 1879."

29. 1933 [p.18] The above footnote (28) is removed.

20. 1933 [p.19] Added and expanded footnote (from pg.18).

29. 1933 [cover] Added "Authorized Edition" to some editions.

30. 1933 [title page] Added "Reg. Pat" to some editions.

51. 1952-53 Removed eleven page topical index.

52. 1972-73 [p.130] Editor's Note: changed the qualification "citizen" to "resident" (Who is the editor of the unrevisable Manual?)

53. 1973-74 [title page] Changed "Published by" from "Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker G. Eddy" to "The First Church of Christ, Scientist"

54. 1973-74 [copyright page] Removed "Authorized Literature"; Changed trademark notice from "Trustees under the Will" to "The Christian Science Board of Directors."

55. 1973-74 [p.15] Added the footnote regarding the special copyright.

56. 1981 [p.17] Changed the day date from April 19 to 12.


NOTE 1: ....this property is conveyed on the further thrusts that no new...By-Law shall be adopted, nor any...By-Law amended or annulled by the grantees unless the written consent of said Mary Baker G. Eddy, the author of the textbook "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," be given therefor,..." (1903-04 Trust Agreements, Manual p.137).

NOTE 2: These dates have been verified by the particular original "Manual of the Mother Church The First Church
of Christ Scientist In Boston, Massachusetts By Mary Baker Eddy, Eighty-eigth Edition, 1910" the year indicated either on the title page or after 1940 on page 21, "Church Officers."

NOTE 3: The "Cross & Crown seal" was added to the cover of the Manual, in 1916, in violation of Mrs. Eddy's intent, to change it in appearance to look like an ecclesiastical rule book instead of the legal document that it is.
