DAVID E. ROBINSON, et al, pro se______________________
Plaintiff
v.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, et al______
Defendants

Exhibit JJJJ
Wrong Perceptions Made Known - Part Two

1. Considering the article by Cliffford P. Smith, entitled Mrs. Eddy's Expressed Intent, in the pamphlet, Permanency of The Mother Church and Its Manual, I offer the following comments.

2. On page 15 of the 1998 issue that I hold, Judge Smith states in his opening sentence:

"As distinguished from the earlier forms of Christian Science organization, The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, was founded and organized by a Deed of Trust dated September 1, 1892, and a meeting of First Members held on September 23, 1892." (See pages 128-135 and 17-19 of the Church Manual).

Notice again the following:

3. The 1892 Deed of Trust named the congregation which would worship in the edifice to be built, as The First Church of Christ, Scientist.

4. The meeting of First Members on September 23, 1892, three weeks later, formed a spiritual church [without charter] which was eventually to be known as The Mother Church, having no legal status.

5. The two churches are not identical.

6. The Church Manual is of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass. is shown on the various flyleafs in Mrs. Eddy's day, and it is written for the control of the Mother Church and its members.

7. Both the Mother Church and its members are ecclesiastical. The Manual is also written for the protections of the branches. These branches are not ecclesiastical since they are chartered under civil law.

8. There is nothing in the 1892 Deed of Trust which concerns a world-wide movement, or broad administrative functions and the like.

8. The Mother Church was completely ecclesiastical and existed only while Mrs. Eddy was here to control it.

9. Statements such as the one that opens Judge Smith.s article contributes to the misunderstandings in the Field regarding the difference between the fiduciary and the ecclesiastical bodies and boards.
