Case No. 07e0072

DAVID E. ROBINSON, et al, pro se______________________
Plaintiff
v.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, et al______
Defendants

Exhibit LLL
The Branches After Reform

1. "If the Pastor Emeritus, Mrs. Eddy, should relinquish her place as the head or Leader of The Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, each branch church shall continue its present form of government in consonance with The Mother Church Manual" (Art. 23, Sect 6), even when the Mother Church under the By-laws ceases to exist.

2. "A branch church of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass., shall not be organized with less than sixteen loyal Christian Scientists, four of whom are members of The Mother Church" (Art. 23, Sect 7), and since the dissolution of the Mother Church involves the dissolution of its membership, it would no longer be possible to organize a new branch church, nor would it be possible to have Readers who would comply with the first sentence of Art. 3, Sect. 6, and be members of the Mother Church.

3. The cessation of the world-wide Mother Church involves the cessation of the "branch church" character of what were formerly branch churches of the Mother Church. However, Mrs. Eddy placed or places no limitations on the organization of Christian Science Societies, or "Societies of Christ, Scientist."

4. The Christian Science Board of Directors would no longer have any control over those who had been members of the Mother Church up to Mrs. Edd's passing, hence no further members could be elected, nor any excommunicated. "Each church [or society] shall separately and independently discipline its own members, -- if this sad necessity occurs."

5. The power to advertise the services of any Christian Science organization, teacher, or practitioner would rest entirely in the hands of the participants.

6. The aim of the Christian Science Movement should be to have less and less organization instead of more and more, and finally to dispense with material organization altogether.

7. The tendency will be to have a larger number of smaller organizations, rather than a smaller number of larger ones. The new organizations might call themselves .Societies of Christ, Scientist..
