When the court sustained the right of the Plainfield Church in New Jersey to use the generic term "Christian Science," the directors appealed their claim to the New Jersey Supreme Court. When they lost their appeal they did not take their issue any further.

The need of today is for a better understanding of the Manual in the light of the estoppel clauses that Mrs. Eddy devised.
