In accord with step three of the Matthew Code, the collective complaint, "Matters
of Conscience," was first shared with "the church" in March 2002.
In September 2002, over one hundred Journal-listed members of the Mother
Church signed a letter called "Working Together" that encouraged Mother
Church members to read "Matters of Conscience" and prayerfully weigh the
evidence.
Over two years have passed since that complaint was made available
to the field.
Some members are still unaware of collective complaint "Matters
of Conscience," but many members who have read that complaint feel it is time
for Mother Church members, who so choose, to be able to express their conclusions
with a collective voice.
